ORGANISM AND ENVIRONMENT

THIS PAGE IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT…

This page is dedicated to general considerations with respect to the workings of the human organism and environmental factors.

A human organism can be seen as a BIO-CHEMICAL, ELECTRO-MAGNETIC MACHINERY and so the factors of BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, ELECTRICITY, and MAGNETISM must be considered in relationship to the structures, processes and functions of the human organism.

A human organism is an aggregate of complex STRUCTURES, PROCESSES and INTELLIGENCES that depends on the continual existence and development of the same three factors in the environment.

A human organism exists and operates within an environment so environmental factors must also be taken into account when assessing the condition of human existence, both in the present and into the future. Certain environmental conditions must be met, maintained or developed to ensure the continual existence, well being and development.

SYMPTOM

SYMPTOM [custom definition]

– OBSERVED OR EXPERIENCED REACTION OR CONDITION CAUSED BY SOMETHING ELSE.

– OBSERVED EXPERIENCE OF A NEGATIVE PHENOMENON OR MANIFESTATION THOUGHT TO BE CAUSED BY SOMETHING ELSE (such as some causative factor external to one’s organism, or foreign to its structure)

UNDERSTANDING WHAT CAUSES A GIVEN SYMPTOM, OR WHAT IT IS A SIGN OF.

WHAT CAUSES THE OBSERVED SYMPTOM

– Describe the symptom(s).

– Describe specific influence of the causative factor.

– Explain the first, in terms of the second: understand and describe HOW the symptom is brought about by the function of the causative factor.

The basic concept of the word symptom is something that comes together with something else.

from Greek symptoma “a happening, accident, disease,” from stem of sympiptein “to befall, happen; coincide, fall together,” from assimilated form of syn- “together” (see syn-) + piptein “to fall,” [etymonline.com]

The word “fall” in English language is also used to mean “happen” especially of something negative that happens to someone or something, presumably irrespective of their will. (Hence, the word “befall.”)

SYMPTOM [Cambridge Dictionary]
